The 27.6 T/hr Auxiliary Boiler (70B501) at PHRC had remained non-operational for nearly 38 years after initial installation. STEP Engineering, working with Standard Fasel BV, undertook a full engineering restoration program that included:
- Complete redesign to meet current global refinery safety and performance standards
- Fabrication upgrades and retrofitting
- Comprehensive functional testing and commissioning
- Safe operation of the boiler for six months, ensuring reliable steam generation for refinery restart
